Ed from Creative Differences has Braved the Shave

We have a brave and generous business owner  at Yew Tree Farm.  Ed  from Creative Differences very kindly decided to have his head shaved to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Under a bright summer sky, he was expertly shorn by Charlie from Yew Tree Salon here at the shopping village in front of an audience of passers by and outside diners at the Cowshed Eaterie.  Ed said it was an odd sensation feeling the breeze on his head! To date he has raised £185.00.

If you are feeling equally brave click on the link or go to Macmillan Cancer Support Brave the Shave to find out more details.

Bird Tastic!!

We have had a few visits from some feathered friends this week.  To begin with we had a Sparrow fledgling drama when one little fledgling found his way into Beyond the Blue.  Mum and Dad sparrow were very vocal about the drama.  All turned out ok in the end.

The second feathery visit came from a couple of Swifts who flew into Beyond The Blue (they’ve been popular this week).  One managed to find his way out immediately, but the other one needed a bit of help.  They are never easy to get out of the buildings, but eventually it got out of one of the skylights.Swift

Our third and probably the cutest visit was into the Farm Shop.  We think the video speaks for itself!!  Just click on the link.

Garden Furniture Centre Win 4 Stars At Chelsea Flower Show

Fantastic News!

This year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show may have been hit with controversy over some of it’s decisions, notably the winner of Best Show Garden award and the giving of a Silver Gilt to Chris Beardshaw’s Morgan Stanley garden rather than a Gold medal.

However, there is one award we certainly don’t think is contentious and that’s the 4 star trade stand award to Garden Furniture Centre.  We understand this is equivalent to a Silver Gilt, which is a wonderful achievement.

It is clear to see just how much work the team have put into creating the attractive display, click on the link to take a tour of the stand

Garden Furniture Centre have been welcoming back their favourite Chelsea Pensioner who has become a bit of a fixture on the stand and this year they have persuaded him to star in a few video blogs.

Dave is certainly a character and it’s fair to say he makes the most of having the world’s greatest flower show in his back garden!  To see his blogs simply click away.

Dave’s not the only one to get out and about at the show.  Meet Bertie the Bulldog Drinks Cooler.

Just a quick Reminder ….

Just a reminder that we are not holding our annual Bluebell Walk this year (2017) and that our woods are private so therefore there is no public access.

However, as it is Spring Bank Holiday the Shopping Village will be open all over the weekend including Bank Holiday Monday. We have a lot to offer from hand-made Chocolates from our onsite Chocolatier to Garden Furniture, fashion and antiques.

If you are looking for a walk over the weekend, why not take a stroll along the canal and drop by at Yew Tree Farm for refreshments at the Cowshed Eaterie or Yew Tree Farm Shop followed by a mooch around our many interesting shops.

Fingers crossed for some decent weather!  We look forward to welcoming you.
